How Do I Claim A Place On Google?

If you are starting a new business address and just got the location, then you will want to go to Google Business Profile. Type in the address, and business name and start the process of claiming a new location under your name. 

If your business is showing up on Google Maps but you currently don’t have it under your control, there is a blue link called “claim my business” that you can click on. You can then fill out the required details and Google will send you a postcard in the mail to verify that it is you. All you have to do is enter the postcard number into the verification box and in seven days you will have ownership of that Google Maps listing. 

If someone else has ownership of your Google map listing, you can request ownership and Google will send them a notice that will let them know that they have seven days to respond. Whether or not they accept you as a new owner, if they do not respond within seven days then you automatically get ownership of that listing. You will be able to access, manage it, add and remove photos, change the hours and business name, and phone number from your own app on your phone or on a desktop using business.google.com.
